The Colombian group Morat is one of the highlights of RTVE's Christmas programming, which features them in the Christmas Eve special. It is one of the most listened to Spanish-speaking bands in recent years, and its successes singing to love and heartbreak triumph on radio and streaming platforms around the world. There are four members: the vocalist and best-known face of the group Juan Pablo Villamil Cortés, the guitarist Juan Pablo Isaza Piñeros, the bassist Simón Vargas Morales, and his brother the drummer Martín Vargas Morales. But at the origins of the band there was another member who left just as their success began. The most fans of the group remember Alejandro Posada. Why did he leave?
Alejandro Posada was the first drummer in the group, and he made the decision to leave it at the end of 2016. He did it for his own reasons, and he made it clear on his social networks where he made his own official statement. A post that no longer exists, in which he wrote the following words:
"Although it is something that hurts me a lot, I do it to protect many things of great importance to me. I want to thank Simón, Villa, Isaza and Pedro for having supported me on this issue and for continuing to be such essential friends in my I also thank Universal, our work team, my family, Sofía and all our fans and followers, because they have been a huge support for me".
The last time we saw Alejandro as a member of Morat was on December 1, 2016 at the Los 40 Music Awards gala where they collected the Revelation Artist award. The group took great care to find a good replacement, and did not hesitate to incorporate Martín Vargas, Simón's brother, in command of the drumsticks.
Alejandro Posada now lives a life away from the spotlight and if we look at his discreet Instagram profile, he took advantage of his time to study architecture in 2018, and now he dedicates all his time to his partner Sofía Reyes and their friends.
